The Ashburton Centre holds its classes at 10am on Saturday mornings at the Ashburton Primary School Hall, Fakenham Street, Ashburton. Because this is a day class, some Tai Chi tuition is held outside on the school oval and quadrangle, if the weather is fine.
The Centre not only caters for students in the local community but also for students in the the wider community who may not able to attend an evening class for various reasons, and has students who come from the whole Melbourne area. Anyone is invited to come and visit the Centre at any time and Beginner classes start every 7 weeks. This is a well-established Centre and students are not only being instructed in the Traditional 108 Movement Yang Style Tai Chi but also in a variety of Weapon routines. This is possible because the Centre has the following instructing staff: Senior Instructor Margaret Rogers, Instructors Yvonne and Noel Schmidt, Assistant Instructors Dianne Cummings and Anna Yeow, and Trainee Instructors Chee Wah Khew, Sally Fisher and Pavla Rada.
Tai Chi routines taught at the Centre include: Traditional Yang Style Tai Chi Beijing 24 Yang 32 Sword Chen Sword Shaolin Sword Flute Classic and Traditional Fan Long Pole Long Pole Sparring Carling Sticks Warrior Lohan Qi Qong Shibashi
