Vanessa and Grandmaster Khor An accountant by trade, in 1998 Vanessa was successful pursuaded by her boss, Master Chin Min, to try a Tai Chi class as a means of de-stressing from a full time career and a part time study program. One class at the Brighton centre was enough to start incorporating Tai Chi into her life. She is now officially hooked!
The inset photo shows Vanessa and Grand Master Eng Chor Khor at the Pearl Shoal Falls in China during the college tour of 2000.
The China tour that is run by the college and attended by Grand Master Eng Chor Khor is a constant talking point when travels are the subject and is a must for anyone who is considering an overseas trip.
In 2007 Vanessa successfully set up a new Celestial Tai Chi Centre at Carnegie Primary School with the dedication from herself, Trainee Instructor Yelena Gul and her students. All of whom are also now hooked. "A journey of a 1000 miles starts with just a single step", a motto that has sunk into her head during her Tai Chi "journey" which some might say is still in it's 1st steps. After completing the Traditional Yang Style form of 108 movements Vanessa has successfully completed the following routines under the instruction of Master Chin Min; - Pheonix Fan
- Broad Sword
- 32 Sword
- 42 Sword
- Tai Chi 42
- Lohan
- Chen Style
- Wild Goose Chi Kung
- and various other Chi Kung sets
Vanessa also completed a intensive training program with visiting Master Yan Gen Lai in 2007 of an additional Chen form routine and Chi Kung excercises. You can see Vanessa at the Brighton Centre on Wednesday nights and Carnegie centre on Thursday nights. |
