Weekly Practice - Bowen St Gardens |
|
|
Tai Chi - Bowen St Gardens Many students who attend a Tai Chi class on a weekly basis, and are either not able to remember the routine or unable to find the time to practice, still find that weekly lessons are most beneficial for their health and well-being. Other students have set aside part of their day to practice as best they can and have found that they are able to keep their aches and pains, both physical and mental, under control.
For the past 10 years or so, a group of Tai Chi devotees has been meeting in a park in Camberwell at 8.30am every Sunday morning (even on Christmas Day) to practice their Tai Chi. This group practices Tao Yin, Shibashi, Lohan Chi Kung, Lotus, Tai Chi Levels 1 to 6, Beijing 24, Yang and Chen Sword routines, the Classic and Traditional Fan routines, the Flute and Long Pole routines respectively, so anyone not doing weapons can leave before the Sword routines.
Senior Instructors, Trainee Instructors and students from the Ashburton, Hawthorn, Doncaster, Box Hill and Camberwell Community Centre classes practice what they have learnt and it has now become part of their weekend activities with 15 regularly taking part.
Anyone in the College is welcome to join this group at any time. Any inquiries contact Margaret Rogers on 9813 8181.
