Our Annual Tai Chi Retreat is a live-in weekend at a beautiful venue, Lake Dewar Lodge, just outside Melbourne. The programme will commence on Friday evening and finishes on Sunday afternoon.

Margaret accepting award
Over the past 10 years the community has become aware of the health benefits of Tai Chi and many community and neighbourhood houses are running classes. The Celestial Tai Chi College has always been supportive in the initiative to run these classes. Margaret Rogers, the Senior Instructor at the Ashburton and Hawthorn classes, has been teaching at the Camberwell Community Centre for over 10 years and some of the original students are still attending these classes and are now Helpers. She runs 4 day classes held over 3 days a week for the Centre.

Margaret was asked by the Manager of the Centre to be on the Committee of Management and served as its Secretary for many years before being elected to the position of President in 2004. The participants of the programs put on by the Centre nominated the Camberwell Community Centre in the Community Service Section of the Progress Leader Business Awards for the City of Boroondara and the Centre was one of 5 finalists in this Section. At the Awards Ceremony in September, the Camberwell Community Centre was declared the winner of the Community Service Section.
