Celestial Tai Chi College at the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2007 |
|
The Melbourne Fringe Festival is an annual alternative arts festival and runs for three weeks from late September to early October, usually overlapping with the beginning of the mainstream Melbourne International Arts Festival. It includes a wide variety of art forms, including theatre, comedy, music, performance art, film, and cabaret, and has expanded in recent years to embrace digital art and circus performance as well.
There was an official opening of the Fringe Festival at the Federation Square site on 27 September 2007, and the College was invited to perform at the opening. We performed the Lotus Qi Qong and Tai Chi Levels 1 and 2 to the audience of several hundred and were warmly applauded. The official placard at the site included the College as one of the sponsors of the event. The public was able to watch on a TV screen, our College performances at our Park Lessons that had been previously recorded.
Thank you to all who helped make the event a success. - Margaret Rogers |
